I started smoking at 14 years of age. At that time I had not received Jesus as my Lord and Savior. As I went through life and turned to Christ as my Savior, I thought that smoking a cigarette now and again was not a bad thing. This continued on for 49 years. That is a terrible thing to admit, but it is the truth. One day, one of my grand children ask me, "Grandpa, why are you using drugs?" That really touched my heart. I had tried the normal ways of quitting before (patches, pills, lozenges, etc.) Finally, I thought it is time that I went to my Lord and Savior and ask His forgiveness and help. I destroyed the cigarettes and lighter and went to Him and begged that He would help me to turn from this evil and to purify His temple (my body). Not being smart enough on my own, I seeked out Setting Captives Free, as I had heard that it was a wonderful sight to aid those who wish to overcome a addictive sin. By following the lessons that Setting Captives Free have, I have learned so much and have gotten even closer to my Lord and Savior. I feel so much better and happier and I know that it can do the same for others. God can work wonders in your life, if you can go to Him on bended knee and seek His help and guidance. Everything that anyone needs is written in His Word, you just have to search it out and believe in it. The Lord describes all that is needed and gives you the instructions to live the life that He so desires of you. Jesus has the patience to wait on you. Praise God for that. It is up to you to make that decision and live by His wishes. With the Grace of God and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross for our sins, we need to make our lives as close as we possibly can to His. We must realize that we all fall short, but we must try to do our very best for Him.

Life can be so enjoyable if you just will bring Him into your life and live the way He would like you to. Praise be to our Father in heaven.-
